Include persons with varied backgrounds, including women, older persons, children, persons with disabilities and persons from cultural minorities when mapping community assets and services, to find out what is important and matter to them.

• Explain the objectives of the mapping exercise and emphasize the importance of including all segments of community in this process.
• Meet at an accessible venue to map community assets and services. Provide assistance with transportation to the meeting for those who need it.
• Map specific health and rehabilitation services which are relevant for persons with disabilities, older persons and women, including rehabilitation providers, pre-and post-natal health services, mental health and psychosocial support services.
• Map community public services such as schools, public administration, police and justice, and social services.
• Map informal health care and support services such as traditional healers and prayer camps.
• Include businesses or economic activities where women and men with disabilities and older persons are contributors in the economic resources map, including home-based businesses and economic activities in the informal sector.
• Discuss the accessibility of community assets and services provision for different groups during disasters related to different hazards.
