Handrail

Handrails should be provided on both sides of a ramp or stairs in order to support people with reduced mobility and guide people with visual difficulties.

There should be two rails, one at a height of 90 cm and another at 70 cm (for children and people of short stature).

For security, handrails must also be installed with a ramp higher than 40 cm to avoid the falling risk and they shall be solid enough to support body weight.
